Survival Tour 6 days and 5 nights
Day 1:
We departure from your hotel at 8.30 a.m. The tour starts by driving in a private car for around
2 hours to Nauta. From Nauta we navigate by slow boat the 2 main rivers from the Amazon (Rio Marañon and Rio Ucayali) until we reach to the local reserve of the River Yarapa. In this protected area we will spend the next 6 days.
Once arrived in the area of Yarapa, we take our lunch in our basic lodge where we gonna spend our first night.
After lunch we prepare all our equipment that we will need for our Survival Tour.
We start our first excursion by boat to observe river dolphins. In the Amazon we have the chance to spot two species of river dolphins, the pink and the grey one. If the conditions are good, we can also see the beautiful Amazon Sunset.
Back in the lodge, we have time to relax and enjoy our dinner.
Day 2:
We start our day 2 with a lovely breakfast in our lodge.
With all our prepared equipment we start in our adventure. In the middle of the jungle we set up our camp, where we gonna sleep in hammocks. No worries they do have rain and mosquito protection.
After setting up our camp, we gonna go on a jungle trek. By walking in the beautiful surrounding you will see the giant trees of the primary forest. Further we have a basic introduction and orientation about the survival skills you need in the jungle.
In the afternoon we gonna visit a lake, where we can find the famous giant waterlilies called Victoria Regia.
All your meals are prepared on fire in the camp. After dinner we spend our first night outside in sleeping in our hammocks.
Day 3:
On our 3rd day we start after breakfast with the visit of a beautiful lagoon. Here we try our luck to fish some piranhas and other fishes.
If we are lucky, we can prepare them for a tasteful lunch.
After relaxing we explore the lower ground jungle in the afternoon. We search for Monkeys and Sloths and observe different birds species.
On our excursions you also have the chance to climb up an amazing tree and swing on lianes.
We come back to the basecamp for dinner.
Day 4:
On day 4 we start our trip along the Yarapa River. Here we explore and learn how to build a camp and shelters (TAMBOS) using materials from the jungle.
In the afternoon we do a Primary Jungle Trek in the higher ground jungle to search for animals. On the walk we collect water from the vines and natural fruits.
Together with your guide you prepare your dinner in the jungle.
At night we do an excursion to observe night-life such as birds, snakes, giant bull frogs, spiders, scorpions and other species.
We spent the night in the middle of the jungle in our Tambo.
Day 5:
On day 5 we learn to make the indigenous animals traps using natural materials that the jungle offers us.
Again we prepare our lunch in the rainforest.
In the afternoon we learn how indigenous tribes do artesanal fishing. Using again only materials offering by the rainforest, we try to catch some fishes for our dinner.
After dinner we go for a nocturnal canoe excursion. We search for night monkeys, caimans and much more.
We spend our second night in our Tambo.
Day 6:
On our last day we do a jungle walk to learn more about the amazing medicinal plants we can find in the Amazon Rainforest.
We also collect edible fruits, seeds and nuts that offers us the jungle.
After our walk in the jungle, we return to our basic lodge, where we have our last lunch.
We return by boat to Nauta and by car back to Iquitos, where we arrive around 6 to 7 p.m.
